Vice President of Business Development
Ambergen seeks experienced, motivated and creative individuals to join a growing team to accelerate the development of its proprietary molecular diagnostic platform. Project areas include development of molecular diagnostic assays for cancer and autoimmune diseases using in vitro protein expression and mass spectrometry, genomic and proteomics-based biomarker discovery and the use of novel photocleavable compounds.
A highly qualified and motivated individual is sought for the position of Vice President of Business Development. This person will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the CSO and Project Directors. This person will help formulate and implement Ambergen’s business development and marketing strategy, develop partnerships, facilitate licensing and supervise business operations.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for line management of Business Development department.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials.
- Develop and maintain business development plan and budget. Set sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets. Follow the set strategy punctually.
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a computerized customer and prospect database.
- Plan and carry out marketing activities (e.g., trade shows, direct mail, web meetings, etc.) to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, and timeframes.
- Respond to and follow up on client inquiries regarding Company services using appropriate methods.
- Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information.
- Ensure accurate contract verbiage and costing
- Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
- Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings to aid business development.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and clients.
Requirements
Position requires at least 8 years of experience in business operations and business development with proven track record in the biotechnology sector and an advanced degree in science and/or business.
